Living Apostolic in San Antonio

The Official Blog of Alamo City Apostolic Church

A Church is Born

Well…a lot has been going on around here in the past few months!

Ever since our congregation was born in October of 2008, there’s been a lot of excitement in the air. We’ve grown from one service per week to three…and the congregation has been growing as well.

We’re a conservative Oneness Apostolic congregation that takes the Word of God very seriously. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a lot of fun along the way! Au contraire — we had an incredibly good time at our Christmas banquet (36 people in attendance — pretty exciting for a two-month-old congregation!) Then, just a couple of weeks later, we took a group of young people and visited the Heritage Winter Conference in Ft. Worth, Texas. What an awesome way to spend New Year’s Day!

If you’ve never been part of establishing a brand new congregation, you can’t imagine how much fun it is. Picture an entire Sunday Morning worship service…held in a living room in the beautiful Hill Country, with massive picture windows overlooking a sweeping valley where, in the distance, you can see the Tower of the Americas rising over the San Antonio skyline. Or picture a formal foyer in the same home…with an 8′ stock tank sitting right in the middle of the floor, and three new believers being baptized in Jesus’ name for the forgiveness of their sins! You’ve just got to be there….

And now we’re looking into the possibility of moving our Sunday service to a historic schoolhouse just a few miles down the road (hey, it’s tough competing with the view out of those picture windows — and besides, we’re outgrowing our space!) Stay tuned for more about that.

Anyway, I’m Pastor Kelly Nix, and I’d love to meet you and welcome you to one of our services. Learn more about us by visiting our website…and then come on out and worship with us one Sunday. We believe if you do, you’ll want to call Alamo City Apostolic Church your church home. Kids are welcome (they’ll meet a lot of new friends here!), so bring the whole family.

  4. I enjoyed Heritage as well. What a blessing and privilege to be in the presence of not only the Almighty God but youth that was very obvious of their love for God and submitted and committed to God! I must say that some of the blessing on our youth as they were overcomed by the Holy Ghost spilled OVER on me!

As well, what an extra blessing and honor to see our babies in the Lord that accompanied us to Heritage, worshipping God and so close to receiving the Holy Ghost! Indeed God is doing a NEW thing in San Antonio, we are seeing results of His WORD planted during months of consistent Bible Study in THE SOULS of these people that LOVE GOD and are HUNGRY for MORE OF Him!It is awesome to see God at work in these new converts lives! I wait for more with great expectation and excitement!

Thank you Pastor Nix and your family for taking the time to take us to Heritage!

  5. Bro. Nix, we are very excited for what God is doing in San Antonio. I pray that a mighty revival would break out in that city. For those of us you all left here in Kansas and Missouri, we are still here rooting you all on and praying for a harvest of souls. My family and I love you all very much and wish your church plan GREAT success!
